Justice on a Budget

Justice on a Budget

Three years after an informal meeting to improvise over loose themes, the debut of Philadelphia’s Justice on a Budget appears. With acoustic and electronic sounds, the group explores genres and themes that are linked by simple structures, resulting in expressions from standard jazz to post-rock to breakbeat and beyond. For this recording, the addition of guest musicians ranges from Brazilian and Afro-Cuban percussionists to four part horn chorales, augmenting the scope of sounds offered by this thoughtful and dynamic trio. With this unique debut, Justice on a Budget will deny and maybe even confirm your wildest categorizations.
